This is yet another view of the outside of St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney. I had been tinkering with different effects for this image all of which were somewhat garish until LenFirewood borrowed it and made the colours more subtle and added some texture. This is the final outcome and I love it. Thanks Len for your help.

St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney - organ

Inside St. Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney

Luna Park, Sydney. I remember Luna Park as a child, it was the place to go and the rides were just brilliant, now having revisited it, very very tame. I still have wonderful memories of my first visit though.

I love churches / cathedrals, I spent a considerable amount of time in this cathedral, so peaceful and wonderful.

I just got back from a visit to Sydney to catch up with family and even though I lived there for quite a number of years, I never took a photo of the Harbour Bridge, until now…. I was at the Opera House when I took this with a 400mm zoom lens.

I love anything old and rusty, I love the rich color and texture of rust. This is a macro shot of a chained and padlocked gate that looks like it hasn’t been opened in years.
Life can be like this padlock, it can be hard yet it requires a key to open it to all its wonderful possibilities. I think the key to a wonderful life is to quell negativity (think positive), have a good laugh every day, to look for the beauty in everything and to love not only yourself but all god’s creatures and try to be thankful and enjoy every moment we have in this existence.

St John’s Cathedral. Why is there so much hate in the world, why is there so much anger? One of the hardest things to endure is to watch someone you love die before your eyes, without complaint, but cherishing every moment they have left. Yet there are others who can find nothing but fault in everything, even the most trivial and are quite vocal in their criticism. I truly feel sorry for those people as I don’t think they will ever be happy. I just wish they didn’t have to bring everyone else down with their bitterness. Dad, I miss you xoxo

I happened upon this whilst taking the dogs for a walk early one morning and lucky I had my camera with me at the time. It’s a torn fragment from a magazine partially covered by leaf litter. It struck a chord of sadness in me when I saw it.

This is St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane, it was a gloriously sunny day when I visited and the light from all the stained glass windows created these wonderful colors.
