This little gem was such a surprise, all I did to get this effect was to put some yellow cellophane paper over the flash which was rotated at about a 50 degree angle and used my trusty Nikon 105mm F2.8G IF-ED AF-S VR Micro lens.

This little guy is a daily visitor to the kitchen window sill, he patiently waits till I put out some mince, or in this case some luncheon meat I bought especially for him. He has been coming for years for his morning and afternoon feed. Also each year they bring their babies along too, so not sure how many generations there are that come to visit. It’s wonderful to hear him sing to alert me of his presence
This is such a beautiful flower, I think it is called Christmas Cactus or something, correct me if I’m wrong. I absolutely love the light showing the delicacy of the petals.

Another macro shot with the contrasting colours of flower against blue sky. I love vibrancy of the colour.

My first attempt at macro photography.
This is one of the first pics I took, at the time I was looking after my terminally ill father who was completely bedridden. So I grabbed my wee point and shoot camera and scouted round the yard and saw this beautiful flower. As a result i developed a real passion for macro photography and immediately bought myself a new camera (Nikon D40) and 105mm /f2.8 macro lens.
Photography is a wonderful medium, you really do look at everyday things differently in this glorious world we live in.
